Position Summary: As a Control System Programmer, this position is responsible for enterprise standardization of Audio Visual (AV) programming for integrated rooms. The incumbent in this position will play an active role in the Crestron program creation development, implementation of small to large-scale AV systems which include: video teleconferencing, audio teleconferencing, analog/digital video switching systems, sound systems, lighting, and displays.

  • Onsite programming of control systems and digital signal audio processors (DSP). Systems will range from Crestron, AMX, Extron, SP Controls, Biamp, Clearone, Vortex, Soundstucture, and Soundweb.
  • Remote programming, working with technicians out in the field to load programs, test, and commission system. Using remote PC software such as Webex, Logmein, or VNC.
  • Performing in shop system testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT) before equipment is leaving the shop. Creating testing documentation for FAT.
  • Software troubleshooting, working with technicians in the field to commission systems and customer turnover
  • Working with project management team in project close out, preforming site acceptance test (SAT)
  • · Participate in documenting and maintaining operations, network development, and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Participate in engineering and project reviews providing critical analysis comments.
  • · Existing program maintenance, system upgrades, and programming refresh to existing systems.
  • Maintain program version control and adhere to configuration management.
  • Creation and maintenance of archived programs on server or share point.

  • Must work with the engineering staff to develop and maintain network requirements, architectures, and designs.
  • Ability to follow company standardization of graphical user interfaces (GUI) that will be implemented on projects out in the field.
  • Must be able to work with end-users to customize GUI layouts to their specification based on V scope of work.
  • Must understand how AMX and Crestron programming cause/effect impacts to the overall audiovisual systems.
  • Must be able to establish templates, and program to intuitive user interfaces.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Create and maintain clear, concise, and complete functional narratives of the system design concepts, attributes, requirements and customer experience.

Mathematical Ability:

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

General understanding of relevant network, acoustic, structural and electrical design calculation relevant to the Industry.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
