Job description

The Senior AV Event Technicians prime function is to manage and oversee delivery of the on-site and virtual event AV services between Kinly and the client.

The Senior AV Event Technician will report to the Client Service Manager. Working alongside the Service Manager the Senior AV Technician will assist in all AV planning, processes’, management of technical equipment across a range of onsite live events, webinars and hybrid events. The Senior AV Event Technician will be accountable to all stakeholders for the delivery of AV for all events. In addition, the Senior AV Event Technician will manage the Event Technicians and drive compliance of all AV tech process’.

The position involves a high degree of client contact and working closely with Senior internal Event Manager and Event Producers as well as executive management and partners of the organisation to provide best in class service across all Audio Visual-related parts of event services.

As a senior member of the team, integrity and professionalism at all times are expected, to set the standard for the rest of the team.

The Senior AV Event Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Running AV events, including pre-event testing of audio, video feeds / wireless microphone battery levels etc.
  • Live Audio / Vision mixing
  • Camera set-up / operation
  • Zoom / Teams call set-up and operation for hybrid events
  • Primary contact for event coordination.
  • Liaising with clients for large events to understand their requirements.
  • Attend pre-production meetings required for any scheduled special events.
  • Primary support to operate global production events.
  • To own the event experiences for the meeting host and attendees.
  • To assist management of high-profile events and become a trusted advisor.
  • To escalate any operational issues to the appropriate level of support and make suggestions for improvements.
  • To report any hardware failures in a timely manner.
  • To produce event reports which highlights the use of space.


  • Live webinar set-up and run.
  • RTMP streaming using Telestream Wirecast or equivalent in to the GlobalMeet platform.
  • Feeding Zoom / Teams into a live webcast.
  • Advise and guide users on best practice.
  • Supporting virtual events
  • Working knowledge of virtual technologies including but not limited to: Zoom / Teams / Webcasting / RTMP


  • Ensure all event spaces are maintained in good working order.
  • Ensure all event space AV is regularly used for training all AV Technicians
  • AV equipment set-up and support.
  • Presentation/multi-media meeting room support, including duration support.
  • Assist with support for multi-media broadcasting.
  • Quick response to emergency/ad-hoc requests.


  • Reporting – Collection, entry of client statistical data including SLA performance, management information, team performance and other business metrics for client.
  • Meetings – Attend regular client meetings and team meetings and maintain close contact with the Service Manager to ensure effective communication and take part in weekly / monthly review meetings.
  • Documentation – Drive the creation and enhancement of all site documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments and to work with the Service Manager to ensure documentation processes and procedures are maintained in accordance with client and Kinly requirements.
  • Scheduling – assist in the management of Event Team Rota, including holiday requests and sicknesses, to make sure all site workload and activities are planned and resourced within SLA agreements.


  • Work with the Service Manager to prepare best practice documentation and ensure that it is kept up to date and stored in a shared place.
  • Share events knowledge and best practices across the entire AV team.
  • Working with Senior Internal Event Manger, Event Technicians and Event Producers to ensure all events are resourced effectively.
  • Client relationship development.
  • Provide regular feedback on communication issues and service improvements.
  • Focus on service / operational issues for review.
  • Develop service procedure documentation and ensure current documentation is kept up to date and available to the onsite AV teams.
  • Oversee the maintenance and appearance of the professional working environment in the event spaces
  • Identify areas of potential Technological/Operational improvements and consult with the relevant stakeholders
  • Awareness of, and compliance with, the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety policies and procedures that comprise the client and Kinly’s Integrated Management System.
