Role: Financial Control Team Lead

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week – Kinly operate a hybrid model, allowing for a mix of office/homeworking

Location: Breda

Salary: €3.900 – €4.600 per month (dependent on experience), plus benefits

As our global business evolves further, we now have a newly created opportunity for a proven finance professional to be responsible for the financial operation of the Benelux organisation.

The role combines hands-on financial control with analysis, reporting, process improvement, and the day-to-day management of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (G/L) activities.

You will work closely with a driven finance team and be given the opportunity to further develop within an organisation of sufficient size and complexity to continue growing professionally, both technically and as a people manager.

The position supports the Group Financial Controller EMEA with month-end closings, reporting, compliance, cash forecasting, OPEX control, and the budgeting and forecasting process and will manage a team of 3 (AP Administrator, AR Administrator, and G/L Accountant).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Operations & Reporting

  • Contribute to an accurate, complete, and timely financial administration for the Benelux region

  • Prepare and execute parts of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes

  • Prepare reconciliations, balance sheet substantiations, and support for general ledger positions

  • Support timely and reliable management and group reporting

  • Analyse variances and discuss findings with the (Group) Financial Controller EMEA

  • Collaborate with AP, AR, GL, billing, and collections colleagues to resolve outstanding issues

  • Contribute to proper reconciliation between sub-ledgers, the general ledger, and reporting outputs

Cash Forecasting & Working Capital

  • Gather and analyse input for periodic cash forecasts

  • Monitor expected receipts, payments, and working capital developments

  • Identify unusual developments or risks and raise them in a timely manner

  • Support improvements in accounts receivable management, accounts payable planning, and payment discipline

Compliance & Internal Control

  • Work in accordance with internal finance policies, group reporting requirements, and relevant local laws and regulations

  • Prepare documentation and reconciliations for internal and external audits

  • Support audits and follow up on assigned audit findings and action points

  • Perform and document internal controls across processes including Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report

OPEX Control, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Prepare periodic OPEX and cost center analysis

  • Analyse variances against budget, forecast, and prior year performance

  • Support budget owners in understanding and explaining cost developments

  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process, including gathering and validating assumptions

  • Support salary forecasting in collaboration with HR and Finance

  • Reconcile personnel costs, headcount, vacancies, and salary developments within the forecast

Learn, Improve and Advise

  • Actively contribute to the standardisation, automation, and further professionalisation of financial processes

  • Identify operational challenges and work with colleagues to develop practical improvements

  • Translate data and financial insights into meaningful business information

  • Support finance and system-related projects aimed at improving organizational quality, efficiency, and scalability

Collaboration & Development

  • Lead, Coach and Develop the Operational Benelux Finance Team

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the AP Administrator, AR Administrator, and G/L Accountant

  • Coach and develop team members in technical skills, ownership, collaboration, and process discipline

  • Foster an open and results-oriented team culture where knowledge sharing and personal development are encouraged

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Fluency in both Dutch and English

  • Relevant experience in accounting, auditing, financial control, or a similar finance role

  • Solid foundation in financial administration, closing processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting

  • Demonstrated potential and motivation to lead a small operational finance team and develop employees; previous coordination or supervisory experience is an advantage

  • Strong Excel skills; experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP Business One is preferred

  • Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to develop further within an international and changing organisation

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement are central
