Reporting to: Installation & Commissioning Engineer Lead

We now have an exciting opportunity for an AV Installation Engineer to join our project delivery team, working alongside our Installation, Service & Commissioning function to deliver high-quality collaboration and audio-visual environments across commercial and construction project sites.

This role is ideal for a motivated engineer with strong on-site experience who is passionate about high-quality installations, continuous learning, and advancing into senior engineering and commissioning pathways.

 

Role Purpose

The AV Installation Engineer will:

  • Install and configure professional AV and collaboration technology on customer project sites

  • Prepare and configure equipment off-site prior to deployment

  • Complete installation documentation and system validation checklists

  • Support the Installation & Commissioning Engineer to maintain installation quality, standards, and site delivery expectations

  • Work closely with internal project teams including Project Management, Engineering and Service Operations

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of professional audio-visual, unified communication and collaboration systems on commercial project sites

  • Off-site preparation, rack building, staging, configuration and asset labelling of AV equipment prior to deployment

  • On-site installation and system setup including displays, audio, control systems and peripherals

  • Completion of installation checklists and submitting accurate site records, red-lines, photos and material usage reports

  • Supporting basic configuration under supervision including IP addressing, endpoint setup and peripheral calibration

  • Assisting with site surveys, testing room readiness and providing structured feedback to highlight issues or risks

  • Working collaboratively with subcontractors, trades, and logistics teams during deployments

  • Ensuring installation work meets company quality expectations and industry best-practice standards

  • Supporting on-site health & safety compliance, cable management, containment, installation integrity and workspace cleanliness

  • Providing first-line troubleshooting during installation phases and escalating complex issues to the Installation & Commissioning Engineer

  • Assisting with stock handling, deliveries, consumables usage and onsite equipment staging/logistics

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience installing AV systems in commercial or construction environments

  • Solid understanding of signal flow, cabling types, infrastructure and installation best practice

  • Familiarity with IP-enabled AV endpoints and collaboration devices

  • Ability to accurately complete documentation, checklists, red-lines, photos and site reports

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a calm & professional approach when working under pressure

  • Excellent time management and the ability to work to deployment schedules and project milestones

  • Strong communication skills when working with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and site teams

  • High attention to detail, structured working habits and a passion for quality delivery

 

Desirable but not essential

  • Industry accreditation such as AVIXA CTS

  • Exposure to digital audio meeting platforms, AV-over-IP or basic LAN technologies

  • Future interest in certification pathways such as CTS-I / CTS-D
