ROLE: Installation & Commissioning Lead

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time

LOCATION: Zurich, Switerland (Kinly operate a hybrid working environment, allowing for a mix of office/home working)

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Installation & Commissioning Lead to join our project operations team who will support the ongoing development of our installation standards, providing support, mentorship and training where required to colleagues and partners.

The successful candidate must be passionate about quality and service delivery to our customers with significant on-site experience in commercial and construction project environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nationwide and international installation of professional audio-visual solutions

  • Offsite preparation and configuration of audio-visual equipment

  • Onsite configuration and commissioning of audio visual solutions

  • Completion or validation of installation and commissioning checklists

  • Carrying out site surveys and providing detailed reports to the project team to identify risks and make recommendations for the project

  • Attending sites for preventative maintenance and service visits as and when required

  • Supervising and/or coordinating project related resources, including Kinly team members, sub-contractors, and external trades

  • Monitor project progress in cooperation with Project and Program manager(s).

  • Coordinate project and resource schedules to accomplish project milestones according to the project schedule

  • Managing on site logistics, ordering consumables, stock control and deliveries.

  • Maintain and update proper project records including bills of material, asset registers, and drawings (red-lines)

  • Escalate project concerns to operations management team

  • Monitor installation work to ensure the highest standard is kept through all stages of a project

  • Monitor site conditions to ensure appropriate delivery of sensitive equipment

Skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge of signal flow, cable types, and infrastructure standards

  • Experience with AV-over-IP technologies and digital signal processing systems

  • Familiarity with networks and network protocols

  • Ability to conduct site surveys and assess room readiness

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and train a team of AV installers and junior engineers

  • Ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects, ensuring on-time delivery

  • Troubleshooting on-site issues with clients and managing expectations

  • Familiarity with AV industry standards such InfoComm/AVIXA CTS

  • Ensuring compliance with local electrical, fire, and safety codes during installations

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex AV issues and implement effective solutions in high-pressure environments

  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges during installations

  • Precision in ensuring high-quality installations and accurate alignment of equipment

  • Thoroughness in documentation and reporting of installations, including schematics, system configurations, and user manuals

  • AVIXA CTS & CTS-I would be beneficial but not essential
