Role: AV Operations Support Technician

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: London, UK

Salary: Competitive and negotiable dependent on experience, plus company benefits

Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 5.30 pm

Due to internal progression, we now have a new opportunity for a proven AV engineer to join Kinly, working on a prestige customer site.

The AV Operations Support Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless audio-visual (AV) support across all client meeting rooms, event spaces, and auditoriums. The position will provide Level 3 incident management, proactive maintenance, and technical expertise, working directly with executive management and regional contacts; this includes managing software licenses, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) on meeting technology requests (MTRs), and undertaking some regional site visits where appropriate. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, independent problem-solver with exceptional customer service skills.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical Support & Maintenance: Provide Level 3 incident management and resolution for all AV equipment and systems across Deloitte London facilities. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing audio, video, lighting, and control systems. Proactive health checks and preventative maintenance are essential.

  • Conferencing & Collaboration: Expertly support Microsoft Teams and Zoom, including setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and training end-users. Maintain a deep understanding of conferencing hardware and its integration with these platforms.

  • Digital Signage: Manage and maintain digital signage systems, including content creation, scheduling, and troubleshooting.

  • Project Support: Contribute to small-scale AV projects, assisting with planning, execution, and coordination.

  • Software & License Management: Manage all approved AV software licenses, including supplier liaison, renewal management, market comparison, and proposal development.

  • Regional Support: Participate in regional site visits (including overnight stays and travel) to support PMV checks.

  • Business Continuity: Support service continuity planning and restoration efforts, including power downs, black building exercises, and other planned or unplanned Business Continuity Management activities.

  • Customer Service & Communication: Provide exceptional customer service, communicating technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Document all technical issues, solutions, and procedures meticulously.

  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Work effectively with other technicians and support staff, mentoring junior technicians as needed.

  • Health & Safety: Comply with all health and safety regulations, including safe manual handling of equipment.

Skills and experience:

  • Deep understanding of AV systems, including audio, video, lighting, and control systems (various codecs, signal routing, matrix switching).

  • Expertise in conferencing platforms (MS Teams, Zoom).

  • Proficiency with digital signage platforms and content management systems (CMS).

  • Networking knowledge (IP addressing, TCP/IP, UDP).

  • Experience with Crestron, AMX, or other control system programming (desirable).

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and documentation skills.

  • Proven experience in AV and VC in a corporate environment.

 

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience mentoring and training junior technicians.

  • Project management experience.

  • InfoComm Essentials of AV technology certification.

  • CTS certification.
