Role: AV Project Engineer
Location: New Jersey or Remote, US
Salary: $90,000 - $125,000 (depending on experience), plus benefits including: health, vision/dental insurance; disability, vacation, sickness, 401K, commuter benefits & employee assistance program

Role Overview:
Working closely with the project manager and acting as the technical owner for assigned projects, the Project Engineer will be responsible for providing design engineering, technical coordination and technical support for the duration of a project, ensuring that systems meet requirements set out in the system specification.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical ownership for assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle
Interface with clients, consultants, and other trades to coordinate AV system integration
Provide engineering support to field technicians during installation and configuration
Ensure that the equipment specified meets the scope requirements
Produce system schematics including audio, video, control, network & power
Produce rack layouts, metal designs such as input plates and wall boxes, IT / asset schedules and registers
Co-ordinate the production of M&E drawings with the CAD team
Communicate required system functionality to commissioners and programmers as required
Communicate any site requirements such as IT and FM dependencies
Ensure system design complies with relevant industry standards (AVIXA, InfoComm, etc.)
Document and communicate system changes, updates, and best practices
Produce commissioning schedules aligned with system design and scope
Assist in the testing of equipment racks and systems where necessary
Conduct site visits and attend project meetings as needed
Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical knowledge is gained to successfully deliver projects
Communicate with local and global teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in AV system design or integration
Proficiency with AV system design software (AutoCAD, D-Tools, Bluebeam, etc.)
Solid understanding of AV signal flow, control systems and networking fundamentals
Knowledge & understanding of Network Concepts & Protocols
Excellent technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment from all major brands
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications:
CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification (AVIXA/InfoComm)
Experience or certification with collaboration platforms (Microsoft, Cisco etc)
Experience or certification with enterprise networks and networked AV
Experience or certification with leading enterprise AV manufacturers
