Role: AV Project Service Engineer / Subject Matter Expert

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Hong Kong

Salary: Competitive and negotiable dependent on experience, plus company benefits

As our business and client base continues to develop further, we now have a new opportunity for an experienced AV Project Service Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) to join our team.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in supporting the remote commissioning of systems in APAC, serving as the primary technical support contact throughout project delivery.

This role requires hands-on support, ensuring efficient task management and fostering strong partnerships with Project Managers and clients' technical teams.

Key responsibilities:

Team Collaboration

  • Supporting technical tasks assigned by Project Managers

  • Promoting skills growth and technical knowledge through regular training sessions

  • Aligning the team with best practices, global standards, and processes

  • Assisting in organizing work shifts to support projects globally, balancing workload effectively

Technical Support and Documentation

  • Act as the primary commissioning contact, ensuring systems are installed according to strict guidelines and within specified timeframes

  • Accurately capture and enter asset information into the online platform provided internally or by the client

  • Configure systems including QCS, APC, Crestron, and network devices

  • Upload programs for Crestron, QSC, and AV devices

  • Provide in-depth remote troubleshooting and advanced fault finding

  • Support Project Managers in delivering projects within the project timeline

  • Communicate with local and global teams to ensure smooth project delivery

  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to gain technical knowledge for successful project delivery

  • Attend system handover meetings with project teams and clients as required

  • Meet with Project Managers weekly to understand and prioritize tasks based on project requirements

  • Regularly meet with the global team to share knowledge and plan resources

 

Skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams, focusing on performance improvement

  • Ability to clearly explain technical details to team members, clients, and stakeholders

  • Excellent technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment from major brands

  • Understanding of Network Concepts & Protocols

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Modern Workspace Technologies, with an emphasis on Microsoft Teams Rooms and Cisco UC Solutions

  • Possess sufficient knowledge of CMD and PowerShell

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in IP technologies and support or service desk environments

  • Up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace, including products and trends

  • Ability to read and work with schematic drawings

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
