Role: AV Service Support Engineer

Reporting to: Installation & Commissioning Engineer Lead

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an AV Service Support Engineer to join our service operations team, working closely with our Service, Engineering and Project Delivery functions to support and maintain high-quality collaboration and audio-visual environments across commercial and construction customer sites.
This role is ideal for a technically minded engineer who enjoys problem-solving in live customer environments, takes pride in service quality, and is motivated to develop their skills toward senior service, commissioning, or engineering pathways.
Role Purpose
The AV Service Support Engineer will:
Provide on-site and remote support for professional AV and collaboration systems
Assist with system configuration, validation, and optimisation to ensure reliable performance
Support commissioning and project teams during handover and early-life support phases
Maintain high service standards, documentation accuracy, and customer experience
Work closely with Service Operations, Engineering, and Project Management teams
Key Responsibilities
Deliver first- and second-line service support for professional AV, unified communications, and collaboration systems
Attend customer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve AV system faults and performance issues
Support system commissioning activities, validation testing, and client handovers under supervision
Assist with preventative maintenance visits, system health checks, and service audits
Complete service documentation including fault reports, test results, photos, red-lines, and asset updates
Support configuration tasks such as endpoint setup, IP addressing, peripheral calibration, and basic control validation
Liaise with internal teams and third-party partners to ensure timely resolution of service incidents
Provide structured feedback to engineering and project teams on recurring issues, risks, or improvement opportunities
Support stock handling, spares management, equipment swaps, and logistics related to service activities
Ensure all service work meets company quality standards, health & safety requirements, and industry best practice
Required Skills & Experience
Proven hands-on experience supporting or maintaining AV systems in commercial or construction environments
Strong understanding of AV signal flow, cabling, system architecture, and fault diagnosis
Experience working with IP-enabled AV and collaboration platforms
Ability to produce clear, accurate service reports and technical documentation
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a calm, customer-focused approach
Excellent time management and ability to work to SLAs and service priorities
Clear communication skills when engaging with customers, internal teams, and delivery partners
High attention to detail, structured working habits, and a genuine commitment to service quality
