Role: Lead AV Project Engineer

Location: Cedar Knolls, New Jersey (this is a hybrid role, which allows for a mix of office and home working – we operate 3 days in the office in Cedar Knolls, so candidates will need to be within easy commute of the office (NJ 07927)

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience), plus benefits including: health, vision/dental insurance; disability, vacation, sickness, 401K, commuter benefits & employee assistance program

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Interview Process – 2-stage (one virtual and one face-to-face on client site)

Currently we have a new opportunity to join a highly collaborative team, working as the Lead Project Engineer, where you will be responsible for playing a key role in the successful delivery of worldclass audio-visual solutions and for providing department-wide expert level expertise, knowledge, guidance, and mentoring.

The expectation is that the Lead Project Engineer demonstrates a mastery of the Audio Visual integration space and is recognized as an authority on the subject by peers and leaders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the project engineering team ensuring the efficient delivery of the technical artifacts and will involve creating, reviewing, and improving audio visual drawing packages to support the installation of hardware

  • Support pre and post sales teams with engineering project requirements including reviewing designs, ensuring all specified equipment will work and supporting the project management team

  • Create detailed CAD drawings and schematics for audio and video systems, including equipment placement, wiring diagrams, and rack layouts

  • Develop clear and precise technical documentation that meets industry standards and client requirements.

  • Work with engineering teams to improve and define new standards and industry best practices

  • Create custom blocks when required

  • Create M&E layouts, elevations, plans, details, and schematics

  • Rendering of room layouts and elevations from architect’s drawings

  • Manage drawing revisions, ensuring latest revisions are submitted to project team

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience working in a similar position

  • Strong knowledge of audio and video systems, including AV signal routing, control systems, and video conferencing

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices in AV design and integration

  • Extensive Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD

  • Knowledge of BIM preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure is essential
