Role: Quality Assurance Installation Supervisor

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience), plus benefits including: health, vision/dental insurance; disability, vacation, sickness, 401K, commuter benefits & employee assistance program

Location: New Jersey (Cedar Knolls) – travel is expected around NJ/NY, but when not on client sites, will need to be in Cedar Knolls

Hours: Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)

Interview Process: Initial Teams interview; 2nd stage on-site

Currently we have an exciting role, one that has been newly created in our structure to work as the QA Installation Supervisor, as part of our highly talented and collaborative project operations team.

This role will oversee quality in the delivery of professional audio-visual solutions whilst supporting the ongoing development of our installation standards; providing support, mentorship and training where required to colleagues and partners.

Depending on project requirements and scale, the QAIS may perform a mix of quality assurance, site management or field installation duties as required.

The successful candidate must be passionate about quality and service delivery to our customers with significant on-site experience in construction and commercial project environments.

 

Key responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

  • In person or remote quality checks depending on project location / complexity / risk

  • Assess offsite rack build and provisioning works, and site installation works to ensure the highest standard is kept through all stages of a project

  • Assess working practices and site conditions to ensure a safe working environment

  • Assess quality of commissioned systems in line with best practice and project specifications

  • Provide feedback to our partner management team in support of continuous improvement of our sub-contractor network

 

Site Management Responsibilities:

  • Monitor project progress in cooperation with Project and Program manager(s)

  • Work with the project manager to coordinate project related resources and resource schedules

  • Supervise and/or coordinate Kinly team members, sub-contractors, and external trades

  • Manage on-site logistics, ordering consumables, stock control and deliveries

  • Ensure safe working conditions and manage safety incidents in accordance with Kinly and specific site policy

 

Field Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Carry out site surveys and provide detailed reports to the project team to identify risks and make recommendations

  • Support offsite project preparation works

  • Provide onsite installation works

  • Support configuration and commissioning of low complexity solutions

  • Attend sites for preventative maintenance and service visits 

 

Skills and experience: 

  • Expertise in installation, termination and configuration of professional AV systems

  • Experience in rack fabrication, prestaging, delivery, and on-site field termination

  • Strong knowledge of signal flow, cable types, and infrastructure standards

  • Experience with AV-over-IP technologies and digital signal processing systems

  • Familiarity with networks and network protocols

  • Ability to conduct site surveys and assess room readiness

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and train a team of AV installers and junior engineers

  • Proficiency in planning and managing the site logistics of AV installations

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and team assignments

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and stakeholders, explaining complex AV concepts in simple terms

  • Familiarity with AV industry standards such as InfoComm/AVIXA CTS

  • Knowledge of compliance with local electrical, fire, and safety codes during installations

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex AV issues and implement effective solutions in high-pressure environments

  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges during installations

  • Thoroughness in documentation and reporting of installations, including schematics, system configurations, and user manuals

  • Excellent technical documentation skills

 

Certifications desirable:

  • Safety and Technical Certifications

  • AVIXA CTS & CTS-I

  • OSHA 30

  • SST

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications
