Role: AV Event Technician

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: London, UK

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience), plus company benefits

Interview Process: 2 stage (Virtual and Face-to-face)

Hours: Monday – Friday – 08:00-18:00 with out of hours working evenings and occasional weekends (Overtime often available)

Exciting new opportunity has arisen on a famous and iconic client site in central London, working as an AV Technician. 

 

Key responsibilities:

Events & Broadcasts:

  • Liaison with management and clients regarding the exact audio-visual requirements for events.

  • Operation of audio-visual equipment as allocated by the AV or Venue Management during events with the aim to provide high quality technical standards

  • Positioning, installation and operation of equipment within event areas

  • Perform all necessary pre-event checks as required for the event

  • Support of video / audio conferences / Webcasts in support of live events

  • Cooperate with specialised production and facilities companies in the provision of events and broadcasts

  • Set up & support of Call Centre Network for Telethons, Emergency Appeals and Press Announcements

  • Setup and support of AV equipment to the client in meeting rooms

  • Assist with IT and network requirements for events as dictated by the customer

  • Assist with support for video / audio conferencing problems. Investigate faults and recommend further actions to rectify

  • Carry out regular preventative room checks, ensuring all equipment functions correctly

  • Proactive maintenance / reporting to ensure all AV equipment is always of the highest standard and functioning correctly

  • Testing and connection of communications and networking to equipment via patching of floor boxes and Comms room terminals

  • Deputise for the AV Manager in the event of absence

  • Supervise additional/ cover technicians and external Production companies/agencies

 

Skills and experience:

Essential

  • Team Player with a positive & flexible attitude to the workplace

  • Operating digital and analogue sound desks capability – Allen & Heath, Soundcraft

  • LED Videowall, Video Projection & switcher Operation ability

  • Good knowledge across a broad range of devices & applications Mac, Microsoft Office etc

  • Experience operating remote controlled or stand-alone video cameras - Sony

  • Complete understanding of signal flow in both audio and video installations

Desirable

  • Experience within a Live music or Theatre based role

  • Basic Lighting skills

  • Operating vision mixers – Panasonic, Black magic

  • Networking, IP & Wi-Fi
