Role: AV Break Fix Technician/Engineer - Onsite

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (depending on experience), plus Company Benefits

Location: New York, US on client site

Hours: Monday – Friday 10.00 am – 6.30 pm

Interview Process: Initial Teams interview; 2nd stage on-site

We have a portfolio of blue-chip clients and the current opportunity we have available is working on one of our most prestigious customers, supporting the Lead Break Fix Technician and the wider AV Support Team, identifying and resolving technical faults across a wide array of videoconferencing and other audio-visual equipment.

 

You will also be responsible for configuring devices, assisting in office relocations for high-level clients, providing remote support to users at other office locations, and completing various tasks as assigned by the Lead Break Fix Technician or management.

This exciting and diverse role will involve supporting senior stakeholders and so you will need to be able to carry yourself well and provide a high-class service both personally and technically.

 

Key responsibilities:

·       Respond to AV technical issues directly through email, phone, ticketed problem, or via management request

·       Investigate the issue/failure to determine if there is a legitimate failure of equipment and/or system problem

·       Diagnose and isolate problems using signal flow knowledge, and basic troubleshooting techniques

·       Replace components, wires, and non-functioning parts as needed

·       Tests room AV functions

·       Raise tickets with manufacturers for both warranty and non-warranty repairs

·       Maintain AV Lab and storeroom inventory of spare components

·       Respond to requests from Operations and Events technicians for support during large events and custom configurations

·       Maintain documentation on Inventory, problem ticket resolutions, Room Information, and PM performance checks

Job requirements

Skills and experience: 

·       Knowledge of AV systems and behavior of AV signals

·       Knowledge of Cisco videoconferencing systems

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Teams / Microsoft Teams Rooms and Surface Hubs preferred

·       Signal flow in video, audio, and control wiring

·       Operation and troubleshooting of AV control systems (e.g., Crestron)

·       Loading of compiled code in control processors and touchpanels

·       Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with AV gear

·       Ability to read as-built drawings and apply the understanding to diagnose reported problems

·       Ability to recognize and describe audio and/or video signal degradation

·       Good communication skills with vendors, co-workers, and managers

·       Knowledge preferred (not required) of VC codec, Audio DSP, and other configurations within system software

·       Ability to improvise workarounds for AV setups to meet the requirements

·       Some installation skills preferred but not required

·       Training in Crestron installation and/or programming preferred but not essential

·       CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I designation highly desirable but not essential
